General comments

The vacuum sewerage is more than hundred years old. The older systems had loads of technical problems.

Due to fifteeen years of research and trials these were eliminated. We dispose of five Patents and nine patented desigs in the field of vacuum sewerage system.

The advantages of our system are as follows:

Pipe network

Form of laying (Patent Schluff)

Advantage

Steady, wavy flow characteristic of the sewage in the pipe. There are no pressure strokes. By permanent pulsating of the sewage stream no disposits of sludge are to be found. In fourteen years of practicing not one sewage-line has ever been blocked.

Pressure test

After installation of the pipe lines and the domestic shafts the entire plants is put under a test pressure of 5 bar for 24 hours. By sheering the entire plant (pipe lines including valve) it is grantes that the net and valves are absolutely tight.

Interface-valves (Patent Schluff)

The interface-valve opens hydraulically and closes mechanically with a closing pressure of 260 kg. The safe opening and closing is condition for a proper functioning.

When opening the valve, sewage and air stream through the valve at the same time. By this the necessary ratio of water and air for operating is permanently given. The valve has a non-restricted free penetration. Blockings in the valve are therefore excluded.

Pumpstation (Patent Schluff)

The pumpstation consists of a substructure in the soil, in which three sewage tanks are located. In the upper structure the machine-technical installation is located.

The pumpstation works vacuumpneumatically. The sewage is gathered by a vacuum and is further lead by pressure air via compressor in the direction of sewage plant

By the pneumatical conveyance it is possible to convey the sewage over great distances to a manometric convey pressure of approx. 10 bar. A flushing with pressure air hinders the deposit of sediments in large pressure lines.

The pumpstations are mounted ready for plugging and are operationable after producing the current supply.

Electronical control (CE-sign)

The pumpstation and the interface valves are controlled and supervised electronically and adapted to optimal conditions. Faults in the domestic connection or the pumpstation are automatically forwarded to any reception place. The message contains the exact location and cause of the fault. These then can be eliminated remote-controlled via PC.

Maintenance and Operation

Domestic connections

The domestic shafts are made of concrete - watertight and secure against buoyancy. The interface valves are free from maintenance.

Pumpstation

The pumpstation does not need much maintenance. Only in the compressors the machine oil has to be exchanged every 500 operation hours (approx. 2-3 times yearly).

Planning

For the concept of planning a local net we support engineering offices and communities as follows:

1. Investigation of the location, if a vacuum technique is economic. For this we need a layout plan with altitude levels.

2. Should a sewerage with a vacuum technique turn out to be an economic solution, we submit a solution proposal after talking to the engineering office resp. the communities and assist in the planning concept.

Hints for calculation and construction of the plants please see the following puplishment of the university of Stuttgart.
